Parvati temple is one of the most seen ocation in Pune. The temples on Parvati hill are the oldest heritagestructures in Pune and suggestive of the Peshwa empire.
It is said that, at this spot the Peshwa ruler Balaji Baji Rao watched the British defeat at the Battle of Kirkee.

Parvati is situated in the centre of the city. It is around 4 Kms from Deccan and 1 km from Swargate.
This temple is situated at a height of 2100 feet above sea level. It offers an aerial view of the city and for the punetis, it is a respite from the noise and pollution of city life.


Parvati is the daily visiting place for a number of citizens and for many people.For some people Parvati (103 steps) forms a part of their daily exercise regimen. Gates of Parvati open at 5.00 am and closes at 8.00 pm.

On parvati hill you can see Devdeveshwar temple and other temples of Lord Kartikeya, Vishnu and Vitthal and Idols repectively. In the history of the Maratha empire every temple has a it's place.There is a Lord Ganesh temple,bulit with an simple and sober architect,called Ramana Ganpati.




Peshwa Museum : A museum located on this hill is an interesting museum that built as a monument of the Peshwa rule.You can see various types of swords,dresses,letters,documents ect.

On this hill the Samadhi of Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshwa is situated, who took his last breath here.
